Adaptive Path’s Subject to Change: watch the movie, read the book

I’ve recently posted a post about a new book published by Adaptive Path’s folks called Subject to Change. For those who want more details, and don’t have the time to read the book, here’s a taster about their customer centric approach to create new products and services. It’s a bit long, but it’s worth it

Just watched the video and it was well worth the 60 mins. It’s actually a nice summation of how things are evolving and I agree with many of the ‘characteristics’ that will be necessary to embody CHANGE. What is evolving from this process of experience/service-centric/empathy is that the consumer is collaborating with ‘time’ to evolve new developments.

Just like NYC is the ‘5th lady’ in Sex In the City, the environment is also a critical character in the evolution of service design. We can’t innovate for something that is not embraced by the consumer as a next generation option. Their individuated use of it will already begin to alter the direction of the next iteration…and that is part of the interesting thing about it. Granted, features requested in high volumes will undoubtedly made it to version 2.0 of whatever software is driving the product; however, culture, environment, and personal circumstances will also trigger relevancy of innovation. Adaptive Path’s newest ideation on the market – Get Satisfaction – is a great example of this.

Thank you for continuing to share your insights as it is refreshing to connect with others embarking on this paradigm shift.
